Is the brand Taste Of The Wild dry cat food a health brand for cats?
I'm thinking of switching my 3 cats (ages 7 years old, 4 years old, and 7 weeks old) to the Taste Of The Wild cat food brand. Also what would be better, a mixture of dry and wet or just dry?
Taste of the wild is not a specific health brand but one of the very best products on the cat food market. No grains and no by products which are found in many so called "health brands". Optimal for the cats would be canned food only. However dry food is told to be good to keep the cat's teeth clean since the canned food does not contain tiny bones such as in mice which would clean the cat's teeth. Therefore I would recommend a mix out of canned food (once or twice a day) and dry food available 24/7. Just make sure your cats have fresh water available as well to avoid chronic slight dehydration which could lead i.e. into bladder crystals. To help cats drinking enough when fed dry food as well you could place several water bowls in different areas of your home. Or get a pet water fountain since running water also attracts animals to drink more than they would do out of a normal bowl. Update: just adding two
