Are the shoes, Crocs, edible?

Ever since I heard that Crocs are edible, I started researching on it to clarify it. Quite a few people are saying that it's not possible to eat shoes, but they have no proof. And the people who say that they are, have some or no proof. There are only a handful of people that say that they are not edible and have something to support it. I'd like to know if Crocs are edible, but, try to answer only if you have some proof. Maybe a website link, or a quote from a website. It would help a lot. Thanks! I've read that Crocs are made out of corn starch. So if you boil it, you can drink it or eat it or something like that.

umm, if you want to see if a man-made material is edible, go eat some of it. if you get sick, then you know it's not edible. *shrugs*

Are you kidding? The human body does NOT digest plastic. Shoes are NOT edible. Come on. If shoes were edible, it would be on the companys' website. It's not.

common sense dictates that SHOES ARE NOT EDIBLE. besides anything thats edible must also be digestible. your shoes would start wearing away soon after you started wearing them. especially from rain and sweat.

Crocs are edible, as long as you have escalator teeth. Those things seem to chew them right up.

Yes and no its like bubble gum but worse it will never digest in the body cause cros are made out of Ethylene-vinyl acetate its the thing they use to make ski boot boxing gloves and that stuff out off it wont make you sick or anything but they will never digest.

No...their not edible. I never actually thought about it, but I went on their website and you'll never believe what was in their the 13th or 14 question down...but I really wouldn't recommend it. I mean, do you really wanna eat plastic or whatever the crap the shos are made out of??? Hope this helps! ♥

well, i have no proof that they are inedible, but i don't think i will be serving them at any meal ... from what i understand, they are made from a material called, Croslite PCCR (proprietary closed cell resin), which, i think, is a petroleum based foam. Not good news for the environment or the animals and people in it.... millions of pairs will probably be sitting in the landfills 100 years from now, as they will not disintegrate back into the earth.... so why would anybody want to eat them? or even buy them??? edit: nope not made from corn starch... otherwise, they would fall apart in water...

No. Please don't try to go eat your Crocs. There is a kind of shoe that looks like Crocs that the market experimented with to make edible. But they were not to be worn as shoes. I don't know if you could find the edible shoe-thing online or not... Good Luck!
